Missed our November 11th Meeting about
Parole Reform for Elder People in Prison?
Click here to watch the meeting.
Learn how Parole Reform will make a big difference
for our aging prison population.
In the last decade nearly 1,300 New Yorkers died in prison.
56% of these deaths were people 55 or older
one third had served at least 15 years of their sentences.
Roughly half of all New Yorkers who die behind bars are Black.
The 'Elder Parole' bill (S15 and A3475) and
the 'Fair & Timely Parole' bill (S1415 and A4231),
when passed and signed into law,
will address these and other inequities faced by older people in prison.
