Welcome to the Broadway Democrats
If you missed our September 9 club meeting on Zoom,
we had a powerful panel of speakers
- including people directly affected by parole -
talking about the #LessisMoreNY Act,
which was just signed into law by
Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday, September 17.
You can watch the full recording of our Sept 9 meeting here.
You can read the op-ed by Manhattan D.A. Cy Vance and
Dem. nominee Alvin Bragg on Sept 14 in the NY Daily News
asking Gov. Hochul to sign #LessIsMoreNY here.
Our own former state Senator and now Lt. Gov.
Brian Benjamin sponsored #LessIsMoreNY in the Senate.
Our own state Senator Robert Jackson and
Assembly member Danny O'Donnell co-sponsored the bill.
Thanks to all who emailed, faxed, and called Gov. Hochul
asking her to sign #LessIsMoreNY.
Keep the conversation going about #LessIsMoreNY.
We can't let fear mongering steal the narrative.
Help tell the story of how this common-sense bill
fixes an important aspect of parole in New York so
people have a better chance to reintegrate back into society.
We are the official Democratic Club in the 69th Assembly District, Part C, which covers most of the area between West 106th and West 125th Streets, Central Park West/Frederick Douglass Blvd to Riverside Drive. This includes Morningside Heights, parts of Manhattan Valley and the Upper West Side, Southwest Harlem, and Manhattanville.
We believe in and support government that cares for people.
